I suppose most everyone has heard of jumping the broom—well, I’ve jumped the gun! I’m traveling up a steep “create your own WordPress blog” learning curve right now. Chances are that I’ve jumped the gun in trying to launch into a new blog but I was motivated to do something at the beginning of 2014 to just start the blog. I realize that it will take time to get things cracking at full speed, so while I’m working on some of the behind the scene blog activities—like developing a Disclosure Policy, an About Me page, and a few other goodies—I’ll be providing some tips, links, and other information for those stopping by that will hopefully entice you to stop back for another visit. If nothing else to see how much progress [or lack of progress] that I’m making!
Okay, let’s start with a few of my favorite blogs–these are bound to give you some new ideas and inspiration for a jumpstart on ideas for cooking or creating in 2014.
Tip #1: I normally always check out blogs with a pencil and my “Ideas” notebook by my side for those things that I want to be sure to remember—after about 30 minutes of blog surfing—if you’re anything like me you’ll never remember where you saw that adorable coffee filter wreath or the recipe for Christy Jordan’s Butter Caramel Puff Corn! There are so many great, creative blogs and I’ll be sharing some of my favorites from time to time. If you’re stuck watching another Monday Night Football Game that you really don’t give a hoot about get out your laptop or iPad and go on an amazing adventure to explore new recipes, organizing tips, decorating ideas, and start making the most of your retirement years ahead!
Tip #2: Find just one thing that you can try in the next seven days–just one–it may be a new recipe, a simple decorating or organizing idea, or maybe you can start trying to memorize Scripture–believe me you’re never too old to start memorizing Scripture!
I found this sign while blog surfing today on “Greige: Design as Intended_Unfinished” [link below] blog. I don’t know who to credit for saying this but I love it! I think this is a great motto/slogan for what I want this blog to represent–I hope it will inspire you to do a few of those things you’ve been putting off until you had time–when you retired!
Tip#3: Start your day here for an inspiration note from Ann Voskamp.
You’ll receive a blessing from Ann’s beautifully written blog.
Check out Kathryn Greely’s blog for the 2014 Color of the Year!
Pantone, the global color authority and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, has named Pantone 18-3224 Radiant Orchid as their 2014 Color of the Year! I’ll probably not be jumping on this bandwagon anytime soon.
